More than 100 million Samsung Galaxy S series sold

Alliteration aside (amigo), the Samsung Galaxy S series has passed the 100 million mark.

The Korean manufacturing behemoth said today sales of the Galaxy S, S II and S III have passed 100 million units as of yesterday.

The company said the Galaxy S has reached more than 24 million global channel shipments, with 10 million in the first seven months of its launch in June 2010.  The S II was launched in April 2011 and has reached about 40 million shipments, Samsung said, with 10 million global channel sales in five months.

The S III, the company’s flag ship device, and What Mobile’s Editor’s and Readers’ choice of 2012, was launched in May 2012 and reached 20 million global channel sales in 100 days, which Samsung said is its fastest selling smartphone yet.  The company said the Galaxy S III has now sold more than 40 million units.
