TweetDeck risks being struck off UK business register

TweetDeck, why you gotta play me like that?

After numerous attempts to sort out installation on my Mac, which to be fair may be my computer’s temperamental nature, I’ve nearly given up on TweetDeck.

But I may not have to worry much longer anyway, given that news outlets are reporting that Companies House has put forward a proposal to strike the company off the register, following a failure to file its business accounts.

Techmeme and Sky News reported in December that both Twitter and TweetDeck, acquired in May 2011, failed to file its business accounts on time with Companies House, with Twitter copping a fine.

Since then, Twitter has filed its accounts – but TweetDeck hasn’t, and the Companies House has put forward a proposal to strike the company off the register, Techmeme reported.

A spokesperson for Companies House told Sky News TweetDeck is yet to file and has 99 days to file up-to-date accounts or face “being dissolved and struck-off the register.”

Sky News is reporting that TweetDeck may be fined a total of £1,500 and be subject to recovery procedures and court action, if it does not file accounts soon.
