The LG V20 has been confirmed to launch with Android 7 Nougat, making it one of the first phones to have Android 7 if launched this year.

LG are no strangers to innovation having launched the LG G5 at Mobile World Congress with modular accessories. Before the G5’s launch in February in Barcelona, LG launched the V10. An impressive device sporting two selfie cameras and a second screen.

The two selfie cameras offered wider angles and more detail than your standard single-lens selfie shooter. Originality plaudits have to be given to LG for the V10, as the second screen worked like an always-on-screen, offering notifications.

The V10’s successor will be the V20, the new smartphone will be one of the first in the world to use Android 7 Nougat. LG confirmed in a blog post, but stopped short of offering any more detail on the V20.

Will we see the LG V20?

As impressive as the V10 was, it only launched in certain markets, the UK not being one of them. We missed out on the interesting second screen, but we will most likely see the concept in the V20. It’s possible we could see the V20 launched in the UK but we’ll have to wait and see.

The LG V20 could be a kickstart in fortune for the Korean manufacturer, after LG confirmed, “An operating loss of KRW 153.5 billion (c.US$132.1m, £100m, AU$175m) reflected increased marketing expenditures and somewhat slow initial sales of G5 smartphone.”

Android 7 Nougat will see a redesigned settings app, better notifications, direct replies, multitasking window and a night mode.
