The LG Optimus G has been rumoured to be the next Google Nexus Android smartphone but could the similarly specified LG E960 Mako be set to become the true taker of the Google Nexus title?
Images have appeared that suggest the rumoured LG E960 Mako could well be in line, especially since ‘With Google’ is printed on the rear of the unit, which would suggest we’re looking at the next Google Nexus in all but official status.
The LG E960 Mako has the kind of specification most associated with the Nexus from previous rumours, so we can expect a Qualcomm 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon CPU, 2GB of RAM and a 4.7-inch display with a reasonable 1280 x 768-pixel resolution.
From the same leaked source, it looks like the LG E960 Mako also comes with an 8-Megapixel camera with a single LED Flash and just 8GB of internal memory. The leaked handset is running Android 4.1.2, so there is no word of the new features we can expect with the launch of Android 4.2, the next iteration of the Android OS.
With so much misinformation flying around about the true identity of what is expected to be called the Google Nexus 5 we’ll have to wait and see if the LG E960 Mako has what it takes.
