Photography enthusiasts will be glad to hear that the next iPhone could snap much higher-quality photographs than its predecessors.
Apple has just acquired LinX Computational Imaging, an Israeli camera-technology company, and hopes the company can provide technology that allows the iPhone 7 to take photographs on par with DSLR cameras. LinX specialises in tablet and smartphone camera technology that matches DSLR cameras in quality.
Apple has confirmed the purchase, but neither company has revealed how much cash was involved. According to the Wall Street Journal, the number is likely to be around $20 million (about £13.5 million).
iPhone 6
With the recent release of the iPhone 6, it’s unlikely we’ll see the iPhone 7 anytime soon.
