£35 iPhone 7 adapter allows charging and music

Belkin partnered with Apple to develop an iPhone 7 adapter that will allow users to charge and listen to music simultaneously.

Apple got rid of the 3.5mm headphone jack and a lot of people are not happy. Thankfully an adapter will be included in the box, so your expensive headphones won’t be made redundant. However using it will mean you can’t charge at the same time, which can be quite inconvenient if you want to listen to music while doing so.

Apple thought ahead and partnered with Belkin, working closely with the American manufacturer to develop the Lightning Audio + Charge RockStar. It will retail in the UK for £34.99 ($40). The adapter will enable users to charge and listen to music at the same time. Although it’s not developed by Apple, the Cupertino giants will be stocking the adapter in Apple stores. Belkin says the adapter supports 48kHz, 24-bit audio, enabling the transfer of lossless music files.

That’s a lot of wires to be on your person if you’re looking to charge while on the go. Picture it, you got: the Belkin adapter, free converter adapter, lighting cable and headphone wire. Not exactly the convenience Apple wishes on its customers, however you can pay a massive £159 ($159) for the new wireless AirPods.

An exaggerated mock up.

The Belkin iPhone 7 adapter will be released on October 10th.
