iPhone 5c and 5s go on sale worldwide, 5s gold in short supply

Happy iPhone launch day, if you’re stuck in a queue outside on of the many Apple Stores and you’re vying to get your hands on an iPhone 5s in gold, then you may find yourself a little disappointed, with reports that it’s very popular and in short supply. If you’re not braving the queues, then unfortunately   you have a similar situation on your hand, with Apple’s online store also not shipping the gold iPhone 5s until at least October.

We had heard reports that the iPhone 5s will be very hard to come by due to some supply issues, probably due to the fact that Apple is focusing on the cheaper 5c that is likely a lot cheaper to produce.

Despite the 5c being a new found obsession of Apple’s, the company has broken its previous tradition by not announcing pre-order figures, with some speculating that the 5c is overwhelmingly not very popular.

O2 in the UK has already said that it will not be selling the iPhone 5s in its stores this morning, but will be selling the slightly cheaper iPhone 5c.

If you’re looking for a 5s, the supply issues may effect you severely if you plan on going anywhere but the Apple Store, but with the hundreds of people reportedly queued outside, you may already be out of luck.

If you’re hoping to pop down to the Apple Store after work, then you might have to phone ahead to see if they have any left, although it would probably be a wiser decision to just be patient and order it from the Apple Store online.
