Google Wallet now available on iOS, but there’s no NFC (obviously)

iPhone users have probably looked on with jealousy as their Android-touting friends all whizzed around using Google Wallet, but probably not. Now however, if you have been feeling a little jealous, you no longer need to, as Google Wallet is now available for iOS.

If you’re unfamiliar with Google Wallet then it’s a payment app like passbook on iOS, which allows you to track your loyalty card, nearby offers and even send money to your friends.

One thing that’s absent from the iOS version is the ability to tap-to-pay, which should be kind of an obvious ommission given the iPhone’s lack of NFC.

Everything else seems to have made its way to the iOS App Store, so feel free to download the app today, and it’s available for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, as long as you’re running iOS 6+.
