Huawei have announced the Ascend Y530, the latest in the Chinese manufacturer’s Ascend line of budget smartphones.

Developed with the European market in mind, the Y530 will run the Huawei Emotion UI coupled with Android’s Jellybean 4.3 OS. Perhaps a slightly questionable choice given the recent launch of KitKat 4.4, the phone will at least be priced to match its dated specifications at an expected £115 when it hits UK shores.

March has been announced as the phone’s Germany launch date.

As for the rest of the Ascend Y530’s specifications, it features a 4.5 inch TFT LCD display with a resolution of 480×845 pixels and a  1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor coupled with 512MB of RAM. Its 4GB of internal memory can be expanded to up to 32GB with a Micro SD card.

Despite its reduced specifications the Y530 is a little on the bulky side, weighing in at 145 grams and measuring 132.5mm x 67mm x 9.3mm  .

There’s also front and rear-facing cameras, the latter of which features a five megapixel lens and flash.
