We’ve already heard from HTC’s top brass this week, stating that the company would make an HTC smartwatch when it offered something new. Well 2014 could be the year of newness. Bloomberg is reporting that the firm is currently developing an Android-based smartwatch, and will be launching it later in the new year.
The site states that people ‘familiar with the matter’ have said such a device would hit in the second half of 2014. Apparently it would feature a camera, although there’s no mention of any kind of price or specs, nor compatibility with the company’s existing range of One smartphones.
We’ve recently heard that the company had worked on a device like this previously with Microsoft. Given CEO Peter Chou’s confident comments on the form factor this week, we’d bet this is likely to happen. Would you buy an HTC smartwatch?
