The HTC One X+ leaked earlier this week via an O2 retail catalogue, so we knew this Android-powered smartphone was coming. Now we have official word from HTC itself that the flagship device will ship later this month.

The HTC One X+ looks pretty much like its predecessor from the outside, coming with a 4.7-inch display.

On the style front, the HTC One X+ comes with a slight make-over, comprising a matte black finish with red decals and there are now also red capacitive touch buttons below the screen.

There are sufficient changes happening under the hood to keep all Android fans happy. Powered by a 1.7GHz Tegra 3 quad-core processor, HTC is claiming the HTC One X+ is 57 per cent faster than the previous 1.5GHz model.

Storage capacity has been beefed up to an impressive 64GB but you won’t find any expansion options on-board. There is also a larger capacity 2100mAh battery, which HTC is also claiming offers up to 50 per cent more power efficiency than on the previous HTC One X.

Along with the new Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update there is the arrival of the HTC Sense 4+ interface, which brings with it a number of new features, including Self Portrait mode for the front-facing camera, while two new views in Gallery groups images and videos and them according to where and when they were taken.

HTC may have made the One X+ official but there is no mention of how much it will cost. We’ll have to wait until it ships later this month to find out that information.
