The HP ElitePad 900 has jumped the gun on the official launch of Windows 8 but you’ll have to wait until January for this compact but powerful tablet to hit the streets.
The HP ElitePad 900 weighs in at 680g, and is built around a 10.1-inch display with a 16:10 aspect ratio screen offering up a sharp 1280 x 800-pixel resolution.
The use of Gorilla Glass makes the display tough and robust, while you can choose to input dats via HP Executive tablet pen, touch or even the optional keyboard dock.
Powered by an Intel Atom 1.8GHz Z2760 dual-core processor and backed by 2GB of RAM, the HP ElitePad 900 is expected to come in two versions, one with 32GB of solid state storage and a slightly more expensive 64GB version. Both models will also sport an SD card slot for additional memory storage.
As is the custom with tablets, you’ll find that HP will be offering a Wi-FI only version, as well as a 3G edition. One of the more interesting features, though, is that 4G is also being offered as an option should any of the operators be interested in taking it. HP is claiming you’ll be able to get up to 10 hours of battery life from a single charge.
The HP ElitePad 900 will go on sale in January and pricing will be detailed closer to the time, along with more facts on final versions available.
