Benchmarks for the new HTC One A9 have been posted online, showing strong results that matches several last-generation flagships.
While HTC seem to be marketing the One A9 as a mid-range device, the price and performance appear to put it in the upper tier that nips at the feet of established flagships. New benchmarks of the device on AnTuTu seem to all but confirm this, with the device racking up an impressive score of 41,000 points. This puts it in the same league as handsets powered by the Snapdragon 801; a chipset which was once reserved for only the fastest flagships. It’s worth noting that there are two versions of the One A9 with differing RAM configurations and it’s not specified in the test which one this result is attributed to.
Still, It’s a strong score that should help to bolster the popularity of the device. The HTC One A9 has taken quite a bit of flak recently for some dubious design choices, mainly because it looks very close to a certain Apple handset. If this performance is anything to go by, it should more than make up for it on the hardware side. Look forward to the full review in our next issue of the magazine.
