HTC looking to change the One’s innards in Nokia dispute

As we reported last week, HTC is having a fair few troubles with Nokia right now, battling the company in courts over patent infringements. In a worst case scenario it could be having an import ban in the US.

Obviously the company doesn’t want that, and it’s looking to get out of this sticky situation as quickly as possible with a minimum of damages. As such, it’s possible that HTC will alter the innards of the One in order to avoid further infringements. This includes, according to Wall Street Journal, working with Qualcomm to find a different method of improving reception and transmission within its radio components.

It wouldn’t be the first time this has happened – the company has infringed on a previous Nokia patent involving microphones, in which it carried out quick adjustments to its devices. It’s hardly ideal for the company, but this may well be the best way of getting out of this particular situation.
