HTC Aero specs are impressive

A vietnamese website specialising in HTC news has released new details regarding the upcoming HTC Aero smartphone.

The HTC One M9 was great phone but it never really set the world alight. Compared to the M8 which had several standout features such as the Ultrapixel camera, the newer model never really had anything substantial to separate it from the competition. As a result, the sales were pretty disappointing and HTC made the difficult decision to manufacture an interim phone as a way of recouping their losses.

Enter the HTC Aero, the rumoured device set to function as a stop gap between the ill-fated M9 and the upcoming M10. The rumour mill has been fairly quiet about the device until today, when HTCViet, a Vietnamese HTC new outlet, revealed various hardware claims from an unidentified source.

Big improvement

The leak goes on to say that it is expected to have a Quad HD 2560 x 1440 panel with Gorilla Glass 4 and 2.5D glass – a buzzword for curved screen edges. The same site also revealed several days ago that it will feature a hugely improved camera with an f/1.9 aperture, which should help with low-light photography. In comparison, the camera on the M9 was decidedly average with little to make it stand out.

If both of these features make it into this device, it should help it to become a true flagship rather than falling short in key areas. It could do with the Snapdragon 820 to really make it shine though.
