Microsoft could be bringing Halo’s Cortana to Lumia phones in April, leaks have suggested.
We’ve known for a while that Cortana, a futuristic AI that assists players in-game, would be coming to Windows Phone as a sort of Siri and Google Now rival. According to MSFTNerd, a beta version of the voice assistant will be launching in April.
The outlet states that Cortana will be voiced by Jen Taylor, who handled all the voice work for the four Halo games in which Cortana appears. Apparently the voice assistant is also scheduled for the iOS Bing app, the rumoured Windows 9 update and Xbox One in Spring 2015.
It’s certainly a brilliant bit of fan service. Just don’t go mistaking yourself for Master Chief any time soon.
