Google offers Google Glass users the chance to invite a friend

Google Glass users are being offered the chance to invite a friend to help test Google’s wearable computers, according to reports emerging from Google+.

Google Glass was launched last year with 2000 developers given devices to trial, with the lucky testers decided via a Twitter hashtag competition. Invitees must be US residents, at least 18 years old, and willing to collect the device from Google’s offices in New York, San Francisco or Los Angeles. Though not yet confirmed, it is likely new testers will have to pay the same $1500 fee the original testers did.

Google began emailing testers yesterday, as reported on Zagg.com. Don’t hold your breath for a public release though. Google have stated that the earliest potential release for Google Glass would still be 2014, and the decision to expand the test pool only means that Google are keen to gather more feedback from beta testers.

Still, if you do know someone who already has their hands on a Google Glass, now’s the time to start being extra nice to them.
