Galaxy S5 to be dust, water resistant?

If you’re looking for a Samsung phone that’s able to take a bit of a beating then the Active series has already been designed for you. That could be changing with the rumoured Galaxy S5.

Reports coming out of Korea are suggesting that the latest flagship model will come back with both water and dust resistance. If true, then that positions the phone next to other flagship rivals like the Xperia Z1. Hopefully this kind of protection starts becoming mandatory in all high end smartphones from now on, so we can all start being a little more casual with our devices.

This would also likely spell the end of the Active line itself. The most recent addition to the line was the S4 Active, which, as you can see from our review last weekend, we quite liked. We’re hoping to see the Galaxy S5 in new year.
