They say there’s no such thing as bad publicity, so it would be interesting to be a fly on the wall in HTC’s head offices right now.

Yet another leak of their upcoming flagship smartphone (at this stage named the ‘M8’) has hit Twitter – this time providing a first look of the device’s homescreen.

On Wednesday of this week we showed you an intriguing image of the rear exterior of the phone. Now potential customers can take a first look at an equally important aspect of the mysterious new device, courtesy of omnipresent Twitter informant @evleaks.

If the image is genuine, it would seem that the M8 will run HTC’s much lauded BlinkFeed. The feature is a dynamic homescreen at heart, a trend sweeping the Android market. The software delivers information from your variety of social networks and apps to create a homescreen constantly updating you on important news and goings on.

The presence of the Android OS’s three key navigation buttons at the bottom of the screen would also seem to suggest that the device itself will be button-free, although we’ll need to see a full-frontal shot of the phone to know for sure. Of course the way things are going for the M8 right now, would anyone be surprised if a photo surfaced in the next couple of days?

The M8 should be making its grand reveal at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona at the end of this month. If there’s anything left to reveal, that is.
