Yesterday we reported that a new version of Google Glass was incoming for developers and beta testers. Today, we have our first look at the update.
If anything it seems a little bit bulkier than the original device. No doubt that’s due to the added support for prescription glasses and other updates. The shot we have below shows the device’s mono earbud snuggly fitting inside someone’s ear. Previously Glass relied on a tiny speaker near your ear bone for audio, but this improvement paves the way for greater quality. Hopefully that should mean the device is a valid MP3 player, although it will likely have to move to dual earbuds before you can seriously use it for that.
This is only a first look, so hopefully a more detailed showing is on the way. Testers and devs can switch out their old Glass units for new ones later on in the year. As for the rest of us? Keep looking but not touching, we’re afraid.
