We recently told you that EE WiFi Calling, a service allowing EE customers to make and receive phone calls and texts over WiFi signals, will be launched on April 10.

Turns out the provider has rolled the service out a day early and EE customers with an iPhone 5s, 5c, 6 and 6 Plus can use the service from today (April 9).

The EE WiFi Calling service was originally going to be available for the Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge and Microsoft Lumia 640.

The change comes as Apple releases iOS 8.3, which adds support for EE’s WiFi Calling service.

You’ll need to update to iOS 8.3 to get EE WiFi Calling working and then enable WiFi calling in the ‘Phone’ settings menu. It will take a couple of hours for EE to enable to service on compatible devices.

EE WiFi Calling limit

If you want to enable EE WiFi Calling on your compatible phone, you best hurry. EE’s limited the amount of iPhones that can register to WiFi calling to 100,000 a day so it can manage bandwidth effectively.
