Six months free Apple Music from EE

UK network EE penned a deal with Apple Music which will offer pay monthly and new customers, six months free Apple Music.

The exclusive EE offer gives free access to Apple Music on both iOS and Android devices. Unfortunately this does not trickle down to pay as you go customers, although EE are looking into it, stating ‘technical capabilities’ need to be looked at, said managing director of marketing Noel Hamill, speaking to TechRadar.

Apple Music shouldn’t drain your data too heavily. For every hour of music, 100-150MB of data is consumed. But if like the majority of the Internet, you’re planning on some heavy sessions with both of Frank Ocean’s new albums, you should probably make use of the data cap in iOS and Android.

This deal follows EE’s recent offer of free BT Sports, also for six months. EE were able to provide BT Sports to new and monthly customers, after BT Group bought EE. Vodafone offers similar deals, with customers able to watch Sky Sports or listen to Spotify, but only one of these offers can be taken for free.

To promote the new deal EE are of course using the eternal Kevin Bacon, with Britney Spears. EE adverts are becoming a bit of a guilty pleasure. They are awful, you enjoy them, but you don’t tell anyone that. The same reason why Overprotected is hidden deeply in so many playlists.

Six months of free Apple Music starts September 1st, users can sign up right here: EE.co.uk/applemusic
