If you’re considering driving with your exclusive Google Glass Explorer Edition, then make sure the place you’re driving isn’t San Diego, where one unlucky commuter found herself on the receiving end of a ticket.
The reason for the charge was supposedly ‘Driving with Monitor visible to Driver’, which according to the law is supposedly interpreted as not driving a vehicle equipped with a video monitor visible to the driver that displays anything other than vehicle information, mapping information, satellite radio information or works as an MP3 player. With modern GPS’ getting cleverer, and many people hooking up their smartphones to the dashboard — we’re not sure if in this case the commuter is in the wrong.
Of course, given we’re no legal experts we can’t comment for sure — but it’s likely this could help set a precedent in the courts.
