3D gesture and eye tracking inbound for Amazon Phone?

We’ve heard plenty a rumour about the Amazon smartphone. Earlier this month we heard that it could have a 3D display, and recent whispers suggested that HTC would be manufacturing. Now we;re hearing that the new handset will utilise 3D gesture and eye tracking control.

Apparently this will allow for an entirely new input method. As suggested with original rumours, the device will have a camera in each of its four corners to track your face. Two other cameras will be included as the usual rear and front-facing ones. The former will be at 13MP while the latter, unusually, will be 12MP.

Apparently two versions of the phone are inbound, one of which will be a cheaper model. Again, the last rumours we heard suggested that three Amazon phones could be in development, though didn’t state if there were variations or entirely new handsets.

Elsewhere, other reports suggest a Snapdragon 800 processor will be included and the display will be at 4.7 inches. All sounds pretty reasonable, doesn’t it?

It’s it’s all true then the device could be with us in the second quarter of 2014. It’s possible that the 3D gesturing could be what the original rumours really meant instead of a 3D display, which would certainly make a lot more sense.
