Dell has announced the new XPS 12 tablet, which utilises magnets to become a laptop.

The XPS 12 is predominantly a tablet with a keyboard added on, a similar vein to the new Microsoft Surface Book. The display will be 12.5 inches and offers a 4k option. The main appeal here being the magnets, which makes it a tablet with a really good keyboard. But you can keep it attached and close it like a laptop.

The XPS 12 will utilise two USB Type-C ports which means charging while plugging in your phone is possible. for those that still have accessories or phones that use only USB, there is an adapter in the box.

Specs-wise the tablet has Intel’s latest Core M5 processor. For a standard HD touch display, 128GB of storage, and 8GB of RAM $999. A more expensive  option includes the 4K display and 256GB of storage at $1299, and both will have the same 2.7GHz Core M5 processor. The XPS 12 is expected to be released next month.
