Razer CEO Min-Liang Tan posted a tweet advertising a job and a Razer phone is on everyone’s minds again.

Razer are a well established PC gaming peripherals and hardware manufacturer, but now it seems they want to take a plunge into the smartphone world. Razer has already made a tablet with the Razer Edge Pro, which runs Windows 10 and offers PC gaming on-the-go.

But that was two years ago so we could possibly be seeing an Edge Pro 2 instead of a smartphone. Saying that, Razer are also advertising for Android and iOS mobile software engineers.

This isn’t the first time Razer has been rumoured to be making a smartphone, in 2013 rumours of a Razer smartphone swirled only for CEO Min-Liang Tan to refute these claims in an interview with Techradar.

“One of the common questions I get all the time is are we building a gaming phone,” Tan said. “I really think mobility is important – but to sacrifice quality of gaming, I don’t think that’s something our customer base is happy with.”

What Mobile contacted Razer for more information on the job roles, but unfortunately no comment can be made at this moment in time.
