This week BlackBerry is celebrating the fifth anniversary of its BlackBerry World storefront. To mark the event, the company is offering 10 premium apps for free, five for BlackBerry 10 and five for legacy BlackBerry users.
The BlackBerry 10 apps included in the offer include Tilt, Scan to Text, InstaVenue, Uno and Doodle Jump.
The free BlackBerry OS apps are Iron Man 3, Uno & Friends, ColorID, Photo Studio Pro and Keep Calm-o-matic Theme.
To take advantage of this offer, simply tap on the BIRTHDAY GIFTS banner in the BlackBerry World app and grab the games you want. It’s that easy.
In other BlackBerry news, the company announced today that it won’t be renewing T-Mobile’s license to sell its handsets after their agreement expires on April 25.
However, existing BlackBerry customers on the US network won’t see any difference in their service or support.
CEO John Chen says in a statement that BlackBerry isn’t seeing eye-to-eye with T-Mobile in terms of business strategies at this point in time, but didn’t rule out future cooperation.
The move follows a disagreement between BlackBerry and the US carrier in February this year, as Chen said he was “outraged” that T-Mobile was targeting customers who own BlackBerry devices with an offer to upgrade to the iPhone 5s with no downpayment.
