Google has finally announced the official name for the upcoming Android M operating system, ending months of speculation.
Google has at last revealed what the M stands for in Android. No, it’s not Muffin. Or M&M. Or Mintberry Crunch (if you’re a South Park fan). Google has kept it simple and gone for the safe option of Marshmallow. Cue anticlimax.
The company revealed the new name via numerous Twitter posts which showed the little Android robot happily cradling a marshmallow outside Google HQ in Mountain View. This was coincided with a tongue-in-cheek YouTube video showing how Google employees create those bizarre Android statues.
