AirBnB Trips is a new app that will see AirBnB expand into the travel services, the company accidentally launched the app early and has since taken it down.

The app was available briefly on the Google Play Store to download. AirBnB Trips offers users to book city tours and restaurant reservations. It didn’t go unnoticed with plenty of people picking up on it, and subsequently was taken down.

Bloomberg reported on the new app detailing what exactly it offered. Not only could users book things, personal itineraries from other users would be available for perusing, adding a social aspect to the all new multi-purpose app. It seems the old AirBnB app will be made redundant as home bookings, city guides and even happy hours are all on show.

AirBnB Trips and tries to style it out

It’s been known for a while AirBnB would be expanding in travel services, Trips wasn’t too much of a surprise. Previously AirBnB experimented with an ‘Experience Card,’ a prepaid loyalty card that would come with a map of recommendations, by locals.

AirBnB spokesman Nick Papas said to TechCrunch: “We’re continually experimenting with new things and we don’t have anything to share right now, but we have a few exciting things in the works.”

Currently it’s not known when AirBnB will bring Trips back, Bloomberg believe a grand unveiling will take place at its annual conference in November. The app will most likely be available on iOS as well.
