If you thought Acer only had one thing to share ahead of IFA, then you’d be wrong. Acer has announced the Iconia A3, a 10.1-inch Android tablet running Jelly Bean — although it’s not the latest version.
The 10.1-inch Iconia A3 will be running on an almost stock version of Android Jelly Bean 4.2, with a few of Acer’s special little features thrown in — such as the inclusion of Dolby Digtial sound which supposedly offers “a virtualized 5.1-channel surround experience over headphones.”
Powering the Iconia A3 is a quad-core 1.2GHz cortex A7 processor although details of other specs are scarce, with no word of memory or battery size.
We do know that the screen will be capable of a resolution of 1280×800, which is lower than Full HD — part of the reason for the unbelievably low price of â¬249.
The Iconia A3 will be available in both 16GB and 32GB variations, and is due to reach Europe, the Middle East and Africa starting early October, with a 3G version available at the start of November.
