A 15-year-old boy has been arrested by Northern Irish police for the cyberattack on TalkTalk. He is currently released on bail.
Northern Irish police confirmed the arrest of the teenager on Twitter, who was arrested on suspicion of Computer Misuse Act offences. He is currently being questioned by Northern Irish police at a County Antrim police station.
Metropolitan Police Cyber Crime Unit, Police Service of Northern Ireland Cyber Crime Centre and National Crime Agency are all continuing with their investigation in the matter.
The Metropolitan Police said on Tuesday that the boy had been “bailed to a date in November”.
The cyberattack was carried out on the 21st of October, with TalkTalk customer data being threatened. TalkTalk announced in a statement measures to be taken to avoid being a victim of fraud.
