Xiaomi releases the Redmi 9 in the UK

Xiaomi is offering customers a discount on the phone and free Mi Smart Band if they buy before August 23

Xiaomi has announced the launch of the Redmi 9 in UK, with the smartphone retailing from £159.

The smartphone is available to buy from Xiaomi’s online UK store and features upgrades from its predecessor.

It comes equipped with an AI quad-camera, 6.53-inch FHD dot drop display screen plus a 5,020mAh battery.

The rear camera includes a 13MP wide-angle camera, 8MP ultra-wide angle camera, 8MP macro lens and 2MP depth sensor. On the front there is a 8MP selfie camera.

It is powered by a MediaTek Helio G80 proseccor and also supports 18W fast charging.

Unlike many recent smartphones released there is a 3.5mm headphone jack, while the Redmi 9 also boasts the ability to support dual SIM usage.

It comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB of memory, with the 3GB RAM variant not available in the UK.

Customers can choose the handset in either grey, green or purple.


Xiaomi has also confirmed that the Redmi 9 is available for £149 if the phone is purchased between August 14 and August 23.

Those that buy during this time-frame will also receive a free Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 4.
