Game Centre update takes aim at high-score cheaters

Apple’s Game Centre is, well, exactly that – the centre of all gaming on its iOS devices. It’s a pretty popular service but, as with any games platform, suffers from cheaters that obtain high-scores in unfair ways.

The good news is that it’s about to become less of an issue. A Game Centre update is inbound, taking aim at these cheaters.   App developers will be able to manage the top 100 tables for their games, allowing them to isolate and delete fake scores. Players that have posted these scores can also now be blocked by the developers themselves. If removes the process of having to address Apple before doing anything.

So that’s a bit of relief on that front.
