More than 25 billion songs downloaded from iTunes

Apple’s reign continueth – it today announced more than 25 billion songs had been purchased and downloaded from the iTunes Store.

The 25 billionth song was Monkey Drums, the Goksel Vancin Remix, by Chase Buch, and the purchaser received a ‚¬10,000 iTunes Gift Card as well as their name on the press release.

Apple internet software and services senior vice president Eddy Cue said the iTunes store averaged over 15,000 songs per minute.

Apple said the store had a catalogue of over 26 million songs and is available in 119 countries.
