If you’re reading this just before Christmas and panicking about festive food, Waitrose’s classy Christmas app is an essential download.

It’s got more than 100 seasonal recipes, including a few corkers from celeb chefs Delia Smith and Heston Blumenthal – the stars of the supermarket’s Chrimbo commercials.

The recipes cover the full range of Christmas food, with cooking tools including a turkey timer and Christmas Day planner. A wine guide helps you choose the best plonk to accompany your meals, and there’s also a guide to opening hours for Waitrose stores – important if you’re searching for sprouts at the last minute.
