Virgin Media launches ultimate ‘Unlimited’ tariff

The new ‘Unlimited’ tariff includes the following:

  • Unlimited cross network minutes
  • Unlimited Virgin to Virgin minutes
  • Unlimited text messages
  • Unlimited web access (including free IM)

So where’s the catch? Well, Virgin has put in place the obligatory Fair Use Policy – but it isn’t that bad. The data is restricted to 1GB in a month, while unlimited texts are limited to 3,000. There are further limits of 3,000 minutes for calls to UK landlines and mobiles, and another 3,000 minutes for Virgin to Virgin mobile calls. Oh, and you’ll need to be an existing Virgin Media customer!

The two special handsets on offer are the Nokia N86, with an 8-megapixel camera, and the Samsung Jet with a high-speed 800MHz ‘Application Processor’.

Virgin Media provides four services in the UK, including mobile, fixed broadband (with speeds of up to 50Mbps) TV and phone.
