Bundle will also come with free phone case and earbuds

Virgin Media has today expanded its portfolio to include the sustainable Fairphone 3+ device.

The Fairphone 3+ is a modular device that is comprised of seven different pieces that can be easily repaired or replaced. The smartphone is fairly sourced from recycled materials and offers a smaller CO2 footprint over its lifespan.

The smartphone is available on a range of plans. Virgin Media is offering a free protective case and modular earphones bundled in starting from £19 per month.

The form-fitting case provides extra comfort and durability while shielding the device and is made with 37 per cent biomaterials and non-toxic plastic. The Fairphone modular earphones come with dual dynamic drivers to deliver a high-quality, balanced sound, while the memory foam earbuds also feature noise isolation.

100GB of date is available for £24 per month on a 36-month contract or for £30.50 per month on a 24-month contract.

Virgin Media executive director of product Annie Brooks said: “Virgin Media is committed to improving the sustainability of the products we provide, so I am delighted that Fairphone 3+ is now part of our handset range.

“We’re always looking to give our customers more choice, flexibility, and value so it’s fantastic to be offering a high-quality, sustainable handset option.”

Fairphone commercial director Leon Boshuizen said: “We’re excited to launch our partnership with Virgin Media. With the launch of the Fairphone 3+, this is a great opportunity to reach a wider audience and spread the Fairphone philosophy more widely in the UK.”
