This F1 season has been the most exciting for a very long time, with five drivers involved in the title hunt. Now Nokia and BlackBerry-owning F1 nuts can keep up to date on every practice session, qualifying round and race result.

The official Formula1.com 2010 Application really is a fine bit of work, presenting reams of data in an easily digestible format. Timing data updates in real time, with telemetry beamed directly from Formula One Management’s Technical Facility at each race track.

If you spend every other Saturday and Sunday afternoon listening to Eddie Jordan rattling on, this is an indispensable companion.

Ovi Maps Challenge app review
It might strictly speaking fall under the category of ‘game’ rather than ‘app’ (developer Rovio made Angry Birds) but Ovi Maps Challenge is as much a light-hearted educational tool as anything. Dare we use that dreaded term “edutainment”? Too late – we just did.
