Nokia has started up the Windows 7.8 update, again, following a “minor issue”.

The update, which started in January, is for  Nokia Lumia phones running Windows Phone 7.5, including the older Lumia family of 510, 610, 710, 800 and 900 devices.

This upgrade was reportedly an appeasement for Windows Phone 7.5 users who would be unable to upgrade to Windows Phone 8.

The roll out was due to occur during February and was operator dependant, Nokia said on its blog in January.

This pause in roll out was due to a minor issue identified by Microsoft, Nokia confirmed to What Mobile on March 8th.

A company spokesperson today said the resumed roll out would continue as usual and generally updates took a matter of a few weeks, so would hopefully be completed towards the end of the month.  The update had been halted for a few days and they were unsure how many people were left to receive the update.

Microsoft had not replied at time of writing to queries regarding the nature of the issue.
