WATCH: A teaser for a new, round successor to the LG G Watch Android Wear smartwatch

We’ve been saying it for month’s now, but we’re all awfully excited about the Motorola Moto 360 smartwatch. Very little of that excitement is over the new Android Wear operating system, though – we’ve already got that in the form of the LG G Watch and the Samsung Gear Live.

Why are we so excited? Because it looks exactly  nothing like those two smartwatches. With its round face and leather strap, the Moto 360 doesn’t look like a piece of tech – it looks like a watch. A watch we would actually  choose to wear.

It would seem that LG has come around to our point of view too. Only weeks after the release of the G Watch, there’s already a successor in the offing. Its name? The LG G Watch R. And you can probably guess what the ‘R’ stands for.

The above video is the official teaser released by LG for the new device. Short of it having a round face we’re not sure what else is going to separate it from its square progenitor, but frankly that alone is enough to pique our interest. What do you reckon? Still infatuated with the Moto 360, or would you consider a similar alternative?
