With all the recent publicity surrounding the pricing of the Moto 360 smartwatch, many onlookers may have forgotten that LG has also quietly been prepping its own Android Wear smartwatch; the LG G Watch.
Now, LG’s upcoming wearable has become the first Android Wear device to receive a hands-on demo in the form of a three minute video on German site AppDated. A quick translation of the web page shows that an update has been posted stating that the site was forced to take down the video, but this being the Internet, someone else has also posted the video on YouTube.
In the clip, the LG G Watch is used to show what we can expect from its Google Now-powered interface.
Menu options include setting a timer, initiating an alarm clock, switching over to airplane mode and running through your schedule, all without pulling out a mobile phone.
The date and battery life percentage can be pulled down from the main clock menu in the same way you can check notifications on an Android smartphone.
When a sneak peek of the G Watch was shown off at the LG event earlier this week – which also marked the launch of the company’s flagship smartphone the LG G3 – it was said to be in its beta stage.
Analysts claim that both the LG G Watch and Motorola Moto 360 smartwatches will be unveiled in their final forms at the Google IO event on 25 June.
