Network also extends unlimited data for NHS workers until January 31, 2021
Vodafone is offering people who have lost their job as a result of the coronavirus pandemic unlimited minutes, data, and texts for £10 a month.
The plan is available to customers for up to six months with no contract to sign and no need for a credit check.
With unemployment rates predicted to reach one million by the end of 2020, the new plan will help reduce monthly outgoings for the financially vulnerable.
The plan will be available on Vodafone’s VOXI brand and is open to anyone currently claiming Jobseekers Allowance, Employment and Support Allowance, or employment-based Universal Credit.
The plan gives customers a 70 per cent discount as it would usually cost £35 a month.
Vodafone UK CEO Nick Jeffery said: “We want to provide financial relief to those people most in need at this incredibly difficult time.
“And we want to make sure those people keep connected, because we know how vital that is – vital to finding new work, and vital to good mental health.
“If you can’t afford your current plan, or you know someone who is struggling, we can help.”
Vodafone has also announced it will be extending its free unlimited data to NHS workers until January 31, 2021.
