UK Playstation 4 sales hit 250,000 in opening weekend

Sony sold 250,000 Playstation 4 consoles in its opening weekend, according to sources cited by MCV.

The sales amount to £87 million worth, and breaks Sony’s previous PSP record, held by the original model which sold 185,000 units when it was released in 2005 in the UK.

The Playstation 4 also beat Xbox One sales, which came in at 150,000 for the first 48 hours on sale in the UK.

According to GfK Chart-Track, Call of Duty: Ghosts is the top selling game in the UK at the moment, with FIFA 14 second.
