Super Size Me: phablet-sized Samsung Galaxy S6 edge leaks

The Samsung S6 edge could come in phablet-sized form, according to leaked renders.

Leaks of the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge Plus, as it may be called, can be traced back to Twitter source Steve Hemmerstoffer and his account @OnLeaks.

Hemmerstoffer posted the device’s apparent dimensions, which suggest the Galaxy S6 edge Plus could have a 5.5-inch screen.

Previous reports claimed that the device would measure 5.7-inches, a pretty massive size even for a phablet. The existing Samsung Galaxy S6 edge has a 5.1-inch display.

Besides moving the microphone to the opposite side of the charging socket, the super-sized device in the renders looks almost identical to the regular S6 edge. It’s likely that it will come with a Snapdragon 808 processor, a 16MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera.

Samsung Galaxy S6 edge Plus release date

There’s been no indication from Samsung about when the new handset will come out, or if it exists at all. If it does come out, a September release date alongside the Galaxy Note 5 is likely.
