December 13th is a big day for Valve. First up, it will ship its much-anticipated Steam Machine to 300 beta testers. They’ll also be treated to the Steam Controller and the SteamOS to run it on. The rest of us? We’ll be getting the SteamOS too.
That said, the company recommends you hold fire on downloading it straight away. The Linux-based OS will apparently be tricky to handle at first, and won’t be consumer-friendly until later in 2014.
Those getting a beta machine will be notified via email today. Valve is set to unveil the commercial machines on January 6th at CES 2014. Its a pretty exciting time for fans of the Half-Life makers, then.
