The HTC One and the Samsung Galaxy S4 has already received the stock Android treatment, but it now seems that the Xperia Z will soon have its turn, with AndroidGeeks reporting that Google is currently working with Sony to bring it to market.
It is expected to be launched as the Sony Xperia Z Google Edition and is most likely to come with Android 4.2.2 Jellybean on-board — that’s if Google doesn’t announce 4.3 beforehand.
According to an anonymous tipster, the device is scheduled to be announced in July but an exact release date is not yet known.
Sony has already made it possible to install stock Android on the Xperia Z, with the Android Open Source Project, but this move could be seen as the company trying to offer its more technically challenged customers that same experience.
