Sony Ericsson X8 Android 2.1 update rolling out

The Sony Ericsson X8 is the latest Android-based Xperia smartphone to get the 2.1 upgrade treatment.

Amongst the improvements are an improved Android Market, with the option to auto update apps, a revised UI with a slightly different colour scheme and battery optimisations.

To find out if your phone is ready to be upgraded, check the SI number on the sticker behind the battery (in the format nnnn-nnnn) and compare it against the list published on Sony Ericsson’s blog.
