Sonim launches Land Rover handset

Sister site Mobile News reports that Sonim has unveileded its latest high durability handset in partnership with car company Land Rover. The phone will be available through Go Mobile stores, while Orange has also pre-approved the handset and may range it in the future.

The Land Rover handset is water and sand proof, and can be dropped from a height of one metre without damage. It can also be submerged in water for up to half an hour and withstand temperatures below -29 degrees Celsius.

Other features include a 2-megapixel camera with flash, GPS, torch light, Bluetooth and Java support. The GSM handset also supports GPRS for mobile data.

The phone will also come with a three-year warranty.
