We’ve all heard of the Snapdragon 400, but that’s yesterday’s news. Qualcomm has now announced the Snapdragon 410, a 4G, 64-bit chip, similar to what’s found in the iPhone 5s.
Still, don’t expect it to come powering the latest flagships – the snapdragon 410 is designed for budget phones. That’s handsets around the £90 mark, bringing 4G to phones much further down the specs spreadsheet. It will run on Android, Windows Phone and even Firefox software and should debut in the back half of 2014.
Also in is an Adreno 306 graphics chip, 1080p support and cameras up to 13-megapixel. An integrated LTE World Mode lets phones run on any 4G network.
So, remember when Qualcomm talked down 64-bit chips a few months back? Yeah, about that¦
