Clams data has found the much vaunted Samsung Galaxy S3 is the phone most prone to faults.

Claims data from MobileInsurance.co.uk showed the top 10 handsets most prone to faults based on user experience, with the most likely phone to cause you trouble based on user experience and claims being the Samsung Galaxy S3.

In at second was the HTC Desire S, with the top five rounded out by the Nokia Lumia 610 at third, the iPhone 4 at fourth and the BlackBerry Bold 9900 at fifth.

The iPhone 4S was in at sixth phone most prone to faults, with the Sony Xperia S in at seventh and last place went to the LG Nexus 4.

According to the claims data, based on hundreds of thousands of claims, the phones that were least frequently reported as having faults were the iPhone 3GS as among the most reliable, followed by the BlackBerry Torch 9800.

Users with white coloured handsets were most likely to experience handset breakdowns or faults, the site said, more so than those with black or silver coloured phones, so I guess it’s a sign to stop being different and get down with the Odyssey look.  That, or the S3 tends to be white.

MobileInsurance.co.uk director Jason Brockman said the site had already looked at phones being accidentally damaged, which was more down to the user.

“Breakdowns and faults with the handset itself often can’t be avoided, so we wanted to let people know which phones most commonly experience faults so that they can avoid them!
